Tours in Kakadu
There are a lot of tours in Kakadu from off road 4wd Kakadu day tours and shorter tours such as cruises and flights depart from within Kakadu. There are a couple of day tour options departing Darwin such as The Arnhem Land Safari, Kakadu Skytour, Kakadu day tour by coach which includes Nourlangie Rock and Yellow Water Cruise.
Extended (overnight) Kakadu Tours depart from Darwin and can also include Katherine and Litchfield National Parks. Choose from accommodated or camping tours.
The best way to see the wildlife is on one of the Kakadu cruises of rivers and wetlands in Kakadu National Park is on a guided cruise. Yellow Waters Billabong is a land-locked billabong in Kakadu National Park where you can see amazing birdlife, crocodiles, buffalo and other wildlife. See more information on the Yellow Water Cruise.
Crocodiles are the most infamous reptile in the Northern Territory and can be seen in most rivers and billabongs in Kakadu. There is almost a one-to-one ratio of crocodiles to humans in the Top End.
The Guluyambi Cultural Cruise is a unique boat tour on Kakadu’s spectacular East Alligator River. Take in the wonderful pristine wilderness as you leisurely cruise upstream, keeping a look out for the variety of wildlife that inhabits this region, including crocodiles.

Kakadu Scenic Flights are another great way to experience this vast land. To see Kakadu from the air is something that will stay with you for a very long time. You can choose to fly in a fixed wing plane or a helicopter.
There are also day tours to waterfalls and waterholes. The Jim Jim Tour will take you to off road areas. In the earlier months when these areas are not accessible by road the tour will go to alternative waterholes/falls such as Maguk, Gunlom & Motor Car Falls. If you prefer a shorter tour you may choose to do the 1/2 day Maguk Tour which operates May til October.
If you wish to visit Ubirr Rock for sunset you can sit back, relax and let your friendly driver / guide pick you up from your accommodation in Jabiru and return you safely. Great if you do not have insurance for night driving.
