We begin our begin our Litchfield & Top End Camping Tour by heading to Litchfield National Park which covers 1,500 square klm’s and full of stunning water falls. Your guide will take you to amazing crystal-clear water holes to cool off in.

locations such as Walker Creek, Green Ant Creek, Sandy Creek Falls & Upper or Lower Cascades. (dependent on seasonal conditions and openings).  After lunch it is off to Wangi and Tolmer Falls which are two of the more well know falls in Litchfield before settling in to our private campsite which is located just on the border of the National Park.

The total walking time is about 1.5 hours (including stops for informative talks). The total driving time is about 2 hours (approximately 150 km).

Day 2 Litchfield National Park & Mary River

Up for an early start we head to Buley Rockhole and then onto Florence Falls.  Both these areas are truly magical and a great place for a swim.  Litchfield is home to amazing Cathedral and Magnetic termite mounds. Your experienced guide will provide insight about these amazing insects and a chance for a great photo opportunity.  After a well needed lunch we head to Wulna Country where we are greeted by our Limilngan-Wulna hosts with ‘Welcome to Country‘.  You will learn about their bush tucker skills and culture and also experience didgeridoo and basket weaving demonstrations.  Then it’s off for a refreshing drink at a local watering hole ‘Pub’ before the short drive to our camp where we will spend the night.

The total walking time is about 2 hours (including stops for informative talks). The total driving time is about 3 hours (approximately 250 km).

Day 3 Sunrise Wetlands Cruise

We get off to an early start and head to the Corroboree Billabong where we join a cruise on the Mary River Wetlands.  We watch the morning sun wash across the billabong and being early the crocodiles are a little harder to spot but the birdlife at this time of day is amazing and well worth the early rise.  The Wetland View Top Centre gives you a further insight into life on these wetlands. The Centre will give you a 270 degree view of the Adelaide River floodplain and you will also learn about the ‘Turtle Dreaming’ with is a local creation story told by the Traditional Owners.  After lunch we make our way back up the Arnhem Highway towards Darwin, one last stop at Fogg Dam Conservation area to learn about the history of this area and the wildlife from the viewing platforms.  The Litchfield & Top End Camping Tour will return to Darwin at approximately 5pm.
