Travel into Kakadu National Park to begin your 3 Day Kakadu and Tiwi Island Explorer. Take a guided walk to view Aboriginal rock art at Nourlangie Rock. After lunch join the famous Yellow Water Billabong Cruise and later, visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre and view the informative displays and exhibits. There is the opportunity for an optional 50 minute scenic flight Overnight Mercure Crocodile Hotel.

We continue the Kakadu and Tiwi Island Explorer tour with a visit to the World Heritage Area of Ubirr Rock Art Site where you will climb up through the ancient Aboriginal rock art galleries. The climb is approx. 250 metres on uneven surface and only a moderate level of fitness is required and well worth it for the view over the surrounding wetlands.
Then it is off to the Upstream Boat Ramp where we join the Guluyambi Cultural Cruise where you indigenous guide will provide an insight into their culture, including local mythology, the river’s abundant food chain, as well as bush survival skills. With special permission of the local people you are able to go ashore in Arnhem Land. After a visit to the Marrawuddi Art Gallery in Jabiru we return to Darwin where you will overnight at The Leea.
Make your own way to Cullen Bay Ferry Terminal and take the 2.5-hour Tiwi Mantawi cruise to Bathurst Island. Meet your local guide and explore the Aboriginal community of Wurrumiyanga. Visit the museum to see traditional art and Tiwi Dreamtime stories. View the Early Mission Precinct and its unique Tiwi-style Catholic church. Learn how Tiwi culture blends with Christianity.
Spend time with Tiwi Ladies as they weave, paint, and demonstrate totem dances and a smoking ceremony. Enjoy damper and billy tea. Tour the Arts & Crafts Centres and browse Tiwi artworks and fabrics. Learn about the Pukamanai (burial ceremony). Return to Darwin around 3:15 pm and make your own way to your hotel. (Tonights hotel is at your own expense).
