This tour is a mid range fully accommodated tour, staying at Cooinda Lodge and the Mercure Crocodile Hotel. Explore the wilderness of Kakadu National Park on a 3 day Kakadu 4wd tour adventure! You’ll see all the main attractions such as Jim Jim falls, Maguk, Gunlom, Ubirr Rock and Yellow Water Billabong. Difficulty: Designed for the fit and active, a reasonable level of fitness is required.
Departing Darwin approx. 6.30 am from your hotel we make our way down the Stuart Highway and onto the Arnhem Highway towards Kakadu. A quick refreshment stop at the iconic Australiana Bark Hut and then onto the East Alligator River where you get an opportunity to spot some of the local crocodiles and flying foxes.
Then on to the world famous Ubirr in the north of the park. Some of the best examples of northern Australian rock art can be found here. Learn about the art from your guide and the meaning behind these special paintings. A climb to the top is rewarded with staggering 360º views over the Nardab floodplains and into Arnhem land.
Tonight, we stay in a private room at the Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel in Jabiru.
Dinner tonight is at your own expense in the restaurant.

After breakfast we get off road and make our way to Jim Jim Falls where a 1 klm walk through the gorge, surrounded by towering 200 metre high sandstone cliffs lead us to the impressive plunge pool for a well deserved, refreshing swim or simply relax on the sand whilst taking in the breath taking views.
A visit to the Warradjan Cultural Centre is a great opportunity to gain some insight into the traditions owners of Kakadu through interactive displays and demonstrations.
Tonight we spend the night at Cooinda Lodge where you can enjoy a swim in the pool before joining a 2 hour Yellow Water Sunset Cruise where you get the opportunity
to see spectacular wildlife including abundant birdlife and crocodiles in their natural habitat.
Return to Cooinda Lodge for dinner which is at your own expense.

Up for breakfast and then we head off track to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge). A 1 klm hike through the paperbark forest followed by a bit of rock hopping takes us to the plunge pool for a cool swim in a pristine environment. We depart Maguk and make our way to Gunlom Falls in the southern part of Kakadu. A hike to the top and you are rewarded with a swim in the naturally occurring infinity pools whilst taking in the panoramic views of this region. The bottom plunge pool not to be missed is a must see, and a last chance to relax before contemplating the drive back to Darwin.
Via the historic town of Pine Creek we arrive back into Darwin at approximately 5.30 pm.
