The 1 Day Kakadu Tour from Darwin is a full-day guided experience exploring the highlights of Kakadu National Park, including the famous Yellow Water Billabong Cruise, Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) Aboriginal Rock Art and Warradjan Cultural Centre.
Departs Darwin: 6.00 am – 6.30 am
Returns: Approximately 7.30 pm
Departing Darwin, your adventure begins as you travel along the Arnhem Highway, passing through major river systems and wetlands, before arriving at Kakadu National Park. Located 257 kilometres east of Darwin, Kakadu covers 20,000 square kilometres of diverse landscapes, from ancient Aboriginal rock art and rugged escarpments to lush floodplains teeming with wildlife.
Visit the Warradjan Cultural Centre, where you’ll learn about the traditions and heritage of the region’s Aboriginal people. Then, embark on the world-famous Yellow Water Cruise, where you’ll cruise through the stunning wetlands, spotting saltwater crocodiles, vibrant birdlife, and other native animals with the help of your knowledgeable guide.
After lunch, the tour continues with a visit to Nourlangie Rock, a must-see site with significant Aboriginal rock art. Your guide will lead you through the main rock art galleries, providing insights into the cultural and historical significance of these ancient artworks.
Finally, after a day of exploration, your tour will conclude with a return to Darwin, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel.
