Guluyambi Cultural Cruise

Jump on board one of the best Cultural Tours on offer. The Guluyambi Cultural Cruise is an acclaimed unique boat cruise operating on the scenically spectacular East Alligator River which separates Kakadu National Park and Arnhem Land.  Take in the wonderful pristine wilderness of this World Heritage landscape and culture as we leisurely cruise up stream.  An Aboriginal guide provides you with an insight into their culture, local mythology, the river’s abundant food chain, traditional uses for many plants and animals as well as bush survival skills.  Disembark on the Arnhem Land side of the river for a display of traditional hunting and gathering implements. The Cruise is limited to just 25 guests, the Cruise ensures an intimate and personal cultural experience.

Guluyambi Cultural Cruise

Note 1: We reserve the right to modify the itinerary and cruise operations to an alternative water system if environmental and cultural issues prevent access to advertised waterway. Wet season operations are usually possible on Magela Creek.

Note 2: We reserve the right to use non-indigenous guides on this cruise on occasions where, for cultural reasons, replacement staff are required.

Getting to the Guluyambi Cultural Cruise: From the Arnhem Highway 5 km west of Jabiru, turn north onto the Oenpelli Road. After approximately 36 km turn off to the right following a sign to the Guluyambi Cultural Cruise and Upstream Boat Ramp (East Alligator River). This turnoff is about 400 meters before the Border Store. (Allow 45 minutes from Jabiru). The road is sealed all the way. Travelling time and distance from Darwin to Upstream Boat Ramp: allow approximately 4 hours, (300 km).
