Immerse yourself in the ageless beauty of Nitmiluk Gorge as our River Guides lead you through the first two gorges of this ancient waterway. Along the way you will gain insights into Indigenous culture, regional history, and the local flora and fauna. The tour features an enjoyable walk along man-made, uneven pathways between the gorges, adding variety to your experience. We suggest wearing swimwear beneath your clothing, as there will be a chance to cool off during the tour.

Travel Notes:

• Expect to walk approximately 500 meters each way between the gorges, including stairs with handrails and uneven surfaces. Please wear suitable footwear and stay aware of your surroundings.
• Additional walking may be necessary to reach seasonal swimming spots via rocky, natural paths.
• We advise wearing swimwear under your clothes before boarding.
• Please arrive at the boat ramp at least 20 minutes prior to the tour’s departure.
• This tour is not recommended for guests with mobility challenges.
• Drinking water and toilet facilities are available on board.
• Due to limited parking at the boat ramp, we encourage you to park at the Visitor Centre and enjoy a short 10-20 minute walk to the boat jetty.
• Entry to Nitmiluk National Park requires a Park Pass, please click here to get your Park Pass (NT Residents exempt).

Driving Directions:

The Nitmiluk Gorge is located approximately 25kms from Katherine Township along Giles St/ Gorge Road and boarding is 20 minutes prior to the departure time at the Nitmiluk Boat Jetty.
