Join a 7-day Barramundi fishing adventure in Kakadu National Park during the wet-season run-off. This is widely regarded as the best time of year for Barra fishing in Kakadu. As floodwaters drop, saltwater Barramundi concentrate in Kakadu’s river systems. That creates peak fishing conditions and strong chances of trophy-size fish. This is a short season, with limited availability.

Fishing Locations

Fish the upstream side of Cahill’s Crossing on the East Alligator River or the South Alligator River, depending on conditions. Enjoy Kakadu’s escarpment country, wildlife-rich waterways, and prime locationsfor big saltwater Barramundi.

Itinerary

Day 1
Depart Darwin airport or hotel at 1:00 pm, travel to Kakadu and settle into accommodation.

Days 2 to 6
Five full days of guided Barramundi fishing (pending trip duration). Early pickup from accommodation and day fishing on either the South or East Alligator Rivers with exclusive access.

Day 7
Breakfast followed by drop-off to Darwin airport or hotel.

Note: Two boats operate on this tour. Boat 2 does not include transportation.
No fishing licence is required.

What to Bring

• Light clothing suitable for fishing
• Sunglasses, hat, buff
• Boat shoes or thongs
• Toiletries and camera
• Shorts and a casual shirt for dinner (carry-on friendly)

What’s Supplied

• All fishing gear (you can bring your own; 40lb braid and 50lb leader recommended)
• Breakfast before pickup and lunch on the boat
• Transfers from Darwin to Kakadu (where applicable)

Accommodation

Twin-share accommodation with shared bathroom facilities in Kakadu.

What’s Not Included

• Personal expenditure on drinks (alcohol)
• Lost lures charged at cost (loss is uncommon)
• Dinners at the local lodge or pub
