Rock Art Cruise with Breakfast

The Rock Art Cruise with Breakfast is a 2.5-hour early morning experience through Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge, combining spectacular gorge scenery, Aboriginal rock art and breakfast on board.

Experience Nitmiluk Gorge in the Morning

Embrace the peaceful morning atmosphere as the early light reaches the escarpment walls of Nitmiluk Gorge.  Travel through the first two gorges with a knowledgeable guide and learn about the cultural stories, history, flora and fauna of the Nitmiluk region. During the cruise you will visit an Aboriginal rock art site before continuing through the gorge.  On the return journey, relax and enjoy breakfast on board while taking in the scenery of Nitmiluk Gorge.

• There is an approximately 400-metre walk between the gorges each way.
• The crossover walk includes stairs with handrails and uneven surfaces.
• This cruise is not suitable for guests with mobility difficulties.
• Please wear appropriate footwear and be aware of your surroundings.
• Drinking water and toilet facilities are available on board.

Getting to Nitmiluk Gorge

Nitmiluk National Park is located in the Katherine region, approximately 320 kilometres south of Darwin.

Nitmiluk Gorge is approximately 25 kilometres from the centre of Katherine. From Katherine, turn onto Giles Street near the Post Office. Giles Street becomes Gorge Road; continue along Gorge Road until you reach Nitmiluk Gorge. The road is sealed all the way.

The diverse landscape of Nitmiluk National Park is the traditional country of the Jawoyn people, who continue to live, work and share their culture with visitors to the region.
