Kakadu Visitor Centre “Bowali”
For a complete look at Kakadu, visit the Kakadu Visitor Centre, also known as Bowali, which is just 5 kilometres from the town of Jabiru. You’ll find the turnoff on your right about 4 kilometres from the Arnhem Highway junction.
At Bowali, the staff are ready to help. They can give you the latest updates on road conditions and tell you about park activities like Ranger Talks, slide shows, and Guided Walks. Be sure to pick up a copy of the Kakadu National Park Guide. This helpful book divides the park into sections, showing you distances, road maps, and how much time to set aside for each area.
The Centre is a great place to learn more about Kakadu. Inside, you can explore the theatre, library, and exhibits, including a huge crocodile skeleton. The air-conditioned library is a perfect spot to relax and dive deeper into the park’s wonders.
